He was retired from Mack Truck Co. in Hagerstown, Md., was active in the Boy Scouts and was the organizer of the Valley View Scout troop.
He was the widower of Emma Teter Bixler. Surviving are three sons, Merrill of Mill Hall, Clinton Co., PA; Dale of Fort Atkins, Wis., and David of Seneca, N.Y.; a brother, Raymond of Valley View; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Andrew United Methodist Church, Valley View. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is handling arrangements.
