She grew up in Sikeston, Maulden and Poplar Bluff, Missouri area. Marge graduated from high school in 1948.
On January 9, 1964, she was united in marriage to Albert George Bendig. They operated Al & Marge's Tavern for 11 years in Arlington, Nebraska. They also managed restaurants in Columbus and Ashland, and managed country clubs in Wahoo and Aurora. They owned and operated Marge's Café in Aurora for 5 years. Then she continued to work in area cafes the rest of her life.
She was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, was past president Lady Auxiliary Eagles Club, Aerie #200 in Fremont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her father and two sons, Daryl and Richard.
Those who wish to cherish his memory are her 3 sons, Paul and his wife Ronda of Duluth, Georgia, Larry and his wife Janet of Houston, Texas, and Harry Layne of Wahoo; a daughter, Sharon Ferguson and her husband James of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 sisters, Doris Chaney of Jacksonville, Florida and Jean Smith of Sikeston, Missouri; her mother, Martha Driskill of Sikeston, Missouri; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
