Robert Neil Maxwell was born Oct. 2, 1932, in Harlingen, Texas, to Homer Robert and Grace Walley Maxwell. He attended Highland Park High School in Dallas, graduating with the Class of 1951. He later attended North Texas State College in Denton and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Bob owned and operated Maxwell Construction Company in Dallas, Frederick and Lawton. He was a well-known design builder and built and renovated many homes and businesses throughout his career, including the Burkhardt Memorial Chapel, where his funeral will be held. Bob was an adventurous person; he enjoyed hot air balloons, he was an avid pilot and owned his own plane. He also loved to restore antique cars. He was a member of the Methodist church, and the Lawton Home Builders Association.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert Watson "Bobby" Maxwell, M.D., Rochester, Minn.; and John Gaylord and Ellen Maxwell, Culpeper, Va.; and two granddaughters: Catherine deRosset Maxwell and Elizabeth Waite Maxwell, who were his pride and joy.
