Clyde Ellis Bane, son of Ellis C. and Lelia B. Bane was born at Cameron, West Virginia, May 28, 1887 and departed this life on December 30, 1945 at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, after a several weeks illness.

Mr. Bane came to Iowa with his parents at the age of two years where they located in Polk County, Iowa. Fourteen years later the family came to Madison County locating near Winterset, where he grew to manhood.

Clyde was baptized in the United Presbyterian Church when quite young and was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge at the time of his passing.

He farmed in several local communities, later locating in the Worthington neighborhood where he has lived for several years.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Florence Bane, his aged mother Mrs. Lelia B. Bane of Winerset, two sons Floyd Bane of Long Beach, California, Dayle Bane of Spokane, Washington, and a daughter Mrs. G. R. Robinson of Whittier, California, also one grandson Darral Bane, one sister Mrs. George Davis of Earlham, one brother Jesse Bane of Derby, Iowa, beside many other relatives and friends.

Clyde married Laurel Mabel Butler on Sept 6, 1911. Clyde and Laurel divorced sometime between 1930 and 1939. On Jun 27, 1939 he married Mrs. Florence E. Stittworth (b. abt. 1890). Her maiden name and place of burial unknown.
