Yvonne "Vi" (Boyd) Edwards, 91, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014, at her home.
Mrs. Edwards was born March 18, 1923, in Pattonsburg, Mo., to Erskine and Alice Assel Boyd. She was a Christian and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She attended Maysville High School and Platt-Gard Business University.
On September 1, 1973, she married Duane Earl Edwards. He passed away July 1, 2005. She was also preceded by her parents and one brother, Raymond M. Boyd.
Yvonne and Duane loved camping and fishing and spent many hours on the lakes of Missouri, Kansas and Texas after his retirement.
Yvonne is survived by one son, Lonnie R. (Kathy) Moore, Warrensburg, Mo.; step-son, Terry (Dana) Edwards, Mound City, Mo.; two step-daughters, Debi (Dan) Pickman, Lancaster, Kan.; and Brenda (Mike) Rehagan, Freeburg, Mo.; three grandchildren, Paul Moore, of North Carolina; Cindy Moore, of Arkansas; and Dr. Dan (Molly) Moore, of Alabama; ten step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Edwards has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.
At her request, there will be no visitation or services. Inurnment: Fairport Cemetery, Fairport, Mo.
