Sister Carrie Jones was born May 5, 1906 to the late Lizzie McGee (McGhee) and Joel Franklin Mitchell, Sr. in Caledonia, Arkansas.

Growing up in a Christian home, Carrie realized the need to have Christ in her life. She united with the Olive Branch Baptist Church at an early age, and served as a faithful deaconess until she and her late husband became ill.

For the past few months, Carrie Jones was residing in Chicago, Illinois under the care of one of her daughters. She departed thia life on April 25, 1992 at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.

Miss Carrie Mitchell united in holy matrimony to Sherman Jones. They were blessed with thirteen children. Five of the thirteen children deceased at an early age. Her immediate family includes, four daughters, Mary Ison (deceased) of Oakland, Ca, Daisy King of El Dorado, Ark, Mable Dean Leslie of Magnolia, Ark, and Estella Buckels of Chicago, Illinois; four sons, Paul Jones (deceased) of Oakland, Ca, Lee S. Jones of San Francisco, Ca, Matthew Jones of Oakland, Ca, and Jimmie Dell Jones of Auburn, New York; six sisters, Clara Brown (deceased) of El Dorado, Ark, Dezzel Woods (deceased) of El Dorado, Ark, Bessie Thomas (deceased) of El Dorado, Ark, Bamma Washington of El Dorado, Ark, Birdana Harris of Madison, Illinois, and Leona Knighten of Hamtramck, Michigan; two brothers, Hezekiah Mitchell (deceased) and Joel Franklin (J. F.) Mitchell, Jr. (deceased), both of El Dorado, Ark; and a host of other relatives and friends.
