Margaret Anne McInturff Cooper, 85, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Helen McInturff; her beloved husband, Wit Cooper and a sister, Evelyn Bourne. Born in Princeton, WVA, she grew up in Bluefield, WVA, moving to the Roanoke Valley in 1952. She first worked for Western Union Telegraph Company and later as a dental receptionist for Dr. Chris G. Scordas for 34 years. Margaret Anne was devoted to her Lord as exemplified by her longtime membership at Bethany Christian Church. She was a faithful member of the choir, held numerous offices and was especially known for hosting the coffee gathering- social before morning worship. Surviving are her son, Stanley Antonio (Tony) Mancari Sr. and wife, Laura of Bridgewater; granddaughter, Abbie Early of Bridgewater; grandson, Stanley Antonio Mancari Jr. of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law, Iris Cooper Robertson of Rocky Mount; nephews, Thomas Stanley Bourne of Knoxville, TN and Carl Edward Bourne Jr. of Scottsdale, AZ; and several cousins and other nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Lewis Gale Medical Center Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Christian Church, 3115 Fleming Ave., Roanoke, VA 24012. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Bethany Christian Church. Pastor Elaine Austin will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior the services at the church. Arrangements are by Oakey's North Chapel.
