Marshall Dale Collins was born July 21st, 2013 and received his angel wings on April 17th, 2014 after 8 months and 27 days he spent fighting in the NICU. He was surrounded by his parents, family and many friends whom he touched during his amazing yet short life.

Marshall's life may have been short but he touched more lives than he ever could have imagined. His smile could always be seen through his eyes and would melt the hearts of those around him. He was able to overcome many odds placed against him.

The bravery Marshall showed was greater than could be imagined. He loved spending his days being kissed and cuddled close to ones that he loved. He enjoyed being read stories, sang to, watching movies, suckers, his binky and chewing on his thumb. Marshall always wanted to be in just his diaper and would have a blanket kicked off fast if one was laid over him. He was able to make two trips to a garden at the hospital. He loved feeling the sun on his face, the cool breeze blowing and putting his feet in the grass.

After Marshall's passing, we remind others that his life was a wonderful one to be celebrated. He will forever be in our hearts and known as our little Iron Man. We were blessed to be able to spend the time we could with him away from home. All the memories we made together will never be forgotten. Marshall taught many people just how strong they could be and needed to be for him. He has forever changed the lives of every person that heard his name.

Marshall leaves behind so many amazing caregivers that showered him with love and support to make his life the best that it could be. There wasn't a day that went by that he didn't feel loved from them. His B-Room nurses as well as his summer nurses helped make his stay and ours a pleasurable one. He was always treated as part of their family. Many Doctors, his Pediatric Advanced Care Team, Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapists, Patient Care Technicians, Chaplain, housekeeping, secretaries and many others were in love with him as well and always showed great respect towards him.

Marshall is survived by his loving parents, Seth Collins and Dara Hawkins of Noble, MO. Maternal grandparents Dennis and Lisa Hawkins of Noble, MO. Maternal great grandmother Nola Sue Nance of Noble, MO. Paternal grandparents Robert and Angelia Collins of Gainesville, MO. Paternal great grandparents LD and Patricia Garrison of Isabella, MO. Uncle Dalton Hawkins, Aunt Catrina and Weston of Noble, MO. Uncle Dillon Hawkins, Aunt Stephanie, and cousins Daigan and Bryson of Ava, MO. Aunt Lydia Collins of Gainesville, MO., his Paternal Great-Great Aunt Janet Collins of Gainesville, MO and Maternal Great-Great Aunt Jean Blisard of Gainesville, MO and many other extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents Dexter and Nelita Hawkins, Maternal Great-grandfather Brandt Nance, paternal Great-grandmother Dixie Collins, and cousin Myrilla Taylor.

Services will be held 10:00am Monday April 21st, 2014 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Gainesville, MO. Graveside service to follow at Franklin Grove Cemetery.
