On August 20, 1958, Kristy married Lonnie Orville Stevens in the Salt Lake Temple. This union produced two daughers, Valarie and Virginia. Kristy and Lonnie divorced on January 22, 1963.
Kristy was the valedictorian of her 1939 San Juan High School Senior class. In addition Kristy worked and retired as an LPN at the San Juan Nursing Home in Blanding, Utah.
Kristy was active in the LDS church and worked in the Primary for 30 years and held various other church callings throughout her life including a stake calling as a Spanish-language extraction worker.
In addition, Kristy served three full-time missions for the LDS church beginning with a proselyting mission in Tempe, Arizona, then in the New Zealand Temple with her sister, Stella, and finally a family history mission in Los Angeles, California.
Kristy is preceded in death by her parents, both her husbands, Charley Black Carroll and Lonnie Orville Stevens, her four siblings, Stella, Ron, Kathleen and Neil, her son, Keith, her daughter, Kristine(Carroll)Hale and a grandson, Eldon Carroll.
She is survived by her children Kirk H (Loretta) Carroll of Blanding,Utah; Kathleen Stubbs (Keith's wife) of Moab, Utah; Duane Hale (Kristine's husband) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Kline (Dianne) Carroll of Blanding, Utah; Kathleen (Thurman) Hamman of Fort Loudon, Pennsylvania; Joseph Kay (Becky) Carroll of St. George, Utah; Virginia (Mark) Boyer also of St. George, Utah; and Valarie (Robert) Turk of Blanding Utah, and her youngest brother, Dennis J (Lorraine) Harvey of Casa Grande, Arizona.
Kristy is also survived by 37 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Kristy died in Blanding on April 10, 2014. Her funeral was held on April 14, 2014, at the Blanding North chapel. She was laid to rest on April 14, 2014 in the Blanding City Cemetery beside her husband, Charley Black Carroll.
She was the much beloved matriarch of her family. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and support of the community
