Harold was born the son of Carlyle "Clyde" and Wilda Avers Rayburn in the office of Dr. Mountford, the town physician for Davenport, Nebraska. He passed away at 6:20 A.M. on April 19, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.

Harold had been a truck driver for Klopp Trucking; Crete Trucking and Hunt Trucking. He also farmed in the Beason and Emden areas. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Emden; Sons of the American Legion; 4-H and the Future Farmers of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest son Brian.

Services for Harold were Friday, April 25 at 10:00 a.m. at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln with Rev. Roger David officiating. Visitation was Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in Bethel Cemetery, rural Emden. Memorials may be given to St. Peter Lutheran Sunday School, Emden, IL.

A celebration of life luncheon was hosted by the Ladies Aid Auxiliary of the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Emden.
