Nick (sic) Taddy, 65, a retired Two Rivers building contractor, died this morning at Municipal hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
Funeral services for his wife, who died Sunday after a brief illness, were held at St. Lukes Catholic church yesterday. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. C.V. Hugo will officiate at rites for Mr. Taddy at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Lukes. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Klein and Stangel funeral home from Saturday until the time of services. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:45 Sunday.
Mr. Taddy was born in 1882 in the town of Two Rivers, the son of the late Nicholas and Mary Taddy. He married Blanche Blaha of the town of Two Creeks in 1912, after which the couple moved to Two Rivers. He established his own contracting firm in 1926 and until his retirement in 1942, constructed more than 200 homes in Two Rivers and 75 in Manitowoc. Mr. Taddy served on the city council from 1924 through 1933 and on the hospital board, in addition to holding membership in the Lions, Rotary, Knights of Columbus and Yacht clubs. He joined the Two Rivers military band in 1915.
Survivors are three sons, Earl and Leroy of Two Rivers and Merlin of Green Bay; one daughter, Mrs. Ignatz Wojta of Two Rivers; four brothers, Paul, William, George and Antone of Two Rivers; eight sisters, Mrs. George Feliez, Mrs. Francis LeClair, Mrs. George LeClair, Mrs. Martin Gagnon, Mrs. Mark
Gagnon and Mrs. Charles Pashek of Two Rivers; Mrs. Joseph Francis and Mrs. Frank Becker of Sheboygan.
