She was born on July 8, 1942 in Oneida, N.Y. a daughter of the late Daniel and Agnes (Schumaker) Ward and was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley Central School.
Kristen and Wayne E. Rowe were united in marriage in 1961 and shared a loving union of over 52 years together.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, playing board games, going out to dinner and playing games of chance and visiting with her friends at Vernon Downs and the Turning Stone Casino.
Surviving are her husband, Wayne E. Rowe; one daughter, Denise Rowe, one son Randy Rowe and one granddaughter Maranda Rowe, all of Munnsville; five sisters, Donna Dwyer of Sherrill, Karis Vaillancourt of Canandaigua, Krystal Ward of Oneida, Karen Folds of San Diego, Calif., and Kay Lorusso of Syracuse as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kristen was predeceased by her son, John Rowe in 2012, two sisters, Karol Treglia and Kathryn Harp, and two brothers, Kenneth and Keith Ward.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill. Burial will be in Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge, N.Y.
