Almeda was the only child of Exile Liberty "Libby" Parker and Anderson Shaffer Ewing. She married James Austin Carr on December 5, 1884 in Washburn, Barry County, Missouri. They had six children, but only three lived: Rosey Exile, John Ewing and Nellie Aritimishie.
