Services for Gilbert Ramsey, 83, of Parkway Drive, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the Criss Brothers Funeral Home, with the Rev. Brenda Lifland officiating. Burial will be in Newark Memorial Gardens.


Mr. Ramsey died sunday evening in Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1907, in Newark, to the late Freeman and Laura Ella (Newlon) Ramsey.


He was a lifetime Newark resident; a retired enamel worker from the Roper Corporation, after 38 years services; and worked with the Newark Shoe Company. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army; and was a member of the Stove Mounters Union.


Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert E. (Helen) Wyckoff of Newark; three brothers; Walter Ramsey of Granville, Gerald Ramsey of Newark, and Leonard Ramsey of Bradenton, Fla; one granddaughter, and two great-granddaughters. Three brothers and two grandchildren are deceased.


Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
