Charline Brucks Penix, 86, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014, in Ennis, Texas. Private graveside services will be held in Mission Burial Park North in San Antonio, Texas.

Charline was born on a farm in Hondo, Texas, to the late Adolph Louis and Ella Lorine (Saathoff) Brucks. She was raised in Hondo and the family later moved to San Antonio, Texas. Charline met Richard Clark Penix and they were married on April 12, 1947. She worked for the North East ISD in San Antonio, Texas, in food service, and as cafeteria secretary at Morning Side Manor Nursing Home in San Antonio. She was also a greeter for WalMart. She enjoyed crochet and loved to watch her grandchildren play sports.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, on June 3, 1983; daughter, Donna Taylor; brothers, Stanley Brucks and Sterl Brucks.

Survivors include her daughte,: Carol Hopkins and husband, David, and Dorothy Arhelger and husband, Randall; grandchildren: Stephen Arhelger, David D. Hopkins, Stacy Anderson and husband, Andrew, Justin Arhilger and wife, Johana, and Keith N. Taylor; great-grandchildren: Sierra, Tyler, Sara, Mary, Joshua, Alana, Charles and Jeremiah; other relatives; and her best friend of 54 years, Maria MacDonald. H15
