Bobbie Wayne Ashwell, 84, of Huddleston, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Autumn Care of Altavista. He was born on Thursday, May 30, 1929 in Roanoke, a son of the late Martin Luther Ashwell and Cordie Cameona Leftwich Ashwell. He was a retired employee of the City of Bedford as an Electrician and was a member of Huddleston United Methodist Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 305, Charlottesville, VA 22901.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Huddleston United Methodist Church, 4491 Smith Mountain Lake Parkway, Huddleston, Va., with the Rev. Steve Turner and the Rev. David Bayse officiating. Interment will follow in Leftwich Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday April 19, 2014, beginning at noon at the church.
Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston, Va.
