Reverend James Meeker Ludlow was the youngest child of Ezra Ludlow and Deborah Crane.
In 1865, he married Emma J. Orr, the daughter of David Orr.
His children included Mrs. Theron Rockwell, Mrs. William J. Hiss, Mrs. Spencer Marsh, Miss Grace Ludlow, William O. Ludlow and Frederick O. Ludlow.
He graduated in 1861 from Princeton and in 1864 from Princeton Theological. He held positions in 1864 at 2nd Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, NJ, in late 1864 at 1st Presbyterian Church of Albany, NY, in 1868 at Collegiate Reformed Church of NYC, NY, in 1877 at the Westminster Church in Brooklyn and in 1886 at the Munn Ave Presbyterian Church in East Orange, NJ.
His wife Emma predeceased him in 1908.
At the end of his life, he lived Norfolk, Ct. where he died on Oct 4, 1932 of heart disease and pneumonia at the age of 91y 6m 19d. He was buried three days later on Oct 7, 1932 in the lot of David Orr lot 15 sec 56.
