Penny E. Barnhart Woods, 57, a lifelong resident of Danville, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday morning, April 17, 2014, at her residence on 722 Liberty Valley Road in Danville.
She was born March 8, 1957, the daughter of the late Charles D. and Grace Dunamon Barnhart.
She graduated from Danville High School in 1975. Penny enjoyed going shopping, dancing and was an avid Beatles fan. Her greatest love and enjoyment in her life was her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 13 years, Donald Woods, who took wonderful care of her as her health deteriorated in the past few years. She is also survived by her son, Jason Poeth, and his wife, Jamie, and their two children, Karleigh and Dalton; two stepdaughters: Raven Woods and her daughter, Carly; and Melissa (Woods) Brittain and her children, Dylan, Zoey and William. In addition, she is survived by one brother, Michael Barnhart, and his wife, Elaine, and one sister, Donna L. Barnhart Homiak, and her husband, Michael, all of Catawissa.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Joseph E. and Lawrence Dunamon Barnhart.
A Celebration of Penny's life will be held for family and friends at the home of Michael and Donna Homiak, 1135 Old Reading Road, Catawissa, on Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 2 p.m. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
