JOSEPH PATTEN BAILEY, 63, 680 Wall St, died Saturday at 1 am in a Salt Lake hospital of a lingering disease. Mr Bailey was born March 13, 1888 at Omaha, NE, a son of Frank E and Clara B Redman Bailey. A retired Railway Express Agency clerk, he had lived in Salt Lake City for the past 50 years. He was employed by the express agency for 44 years, having been stationed at the interurban dept for 25 years. He married Nellie Holley, March 31, 1909, in Salt Lake City.

Surviving are his widow, Salt Lake City: five sons, John F, Joseph P. Jr, of Salt Lake City, and Robert H Bailey, Los Molinos, CA; a brother Frank E Bailey, Cottonwood, CA; a sister, Mrs Beth Lewis, Redondo Beach, CA, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 pm at 260 E South Temple, where friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 pm, and Tuesday after 10 am. Burial will be in Salt Lake City cemetery.
