EDWARD POKORSKI
(1895 - 1953)

Edward L. Pokorski, 57, of 1030 South 22nd St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly of a heart attack shortly before noon Tuesday while working a the Wisconsin Malting Company plant. Fellow workmen summoned the ambulance and he was moved to the Holy Family Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on entrance.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Edward S. Nowakowski will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Pokorski was born in Manitowoc in 1895 and in 1920 married Miss Anna Kowalski. He was a foreman at the Wisconsin Malting Company for 21 years, and was a member of the Holy Name Society, Eagles and American Legion. He served two years in the armed forces in World War I.

Survivors are his wife; mother, Mrs. Mary Pokorski of Manitowoc; daughter, Violet of Milwaukee; three sons, James of Oshkosh and Donald and Arnold of Manitowoc; four brothers, Alex, Stanley and Anton of Manitowoc and Frank of Newton; three sisters, Mrs. Alex Mrotek, Mrs. Louis Bonk and Mrs. Anton Poklinkosky of Manitowoc; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Thursday, where the rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
