Geraldine Bollinger Choate Barks, 102, of Jackson, Mo., formerly of Marble Hill, Mo., died February 25, 2021, at The Villas of Jackson. Born on September 12, 1918, in Bell City, Mo., she was the daughter of John L and Pauline True Bollinger. She first married Wilbur Choate. Following his death she married Homer Barks, who also preceded her in death.

She had worked as a secretary for Shell Oil Company. Geraldine gave 13 years of service to the Ombudsman Program of Southeast Missouri, working with numerous nursing homes. She was a member of Hahn's Chapel Baptist Church in Marble Hill. Many family and friends were recipients of her beautiful handmade afghans. She also enjoyed gardening and specialized in roses and azaleas.

She is survived by two sisters: Mildred Felker of Chaffee, Mo., and Marjorie Gaines of East Alton, Ill.; by two stepdaughters: Myra Kay Dickerson and Betty Cheatham, both of Marble Hill; two step granddaughters: Amy (Danny) James and Julie Long; four step-greatgrandchildren: Macey James, Sophia James, Brock Long and Josh Long; numerous nieces and nephews and loyal friends. A brother, Vernon Bollinger, and two sisters, Maxine Goehring and Louise Jerome, predeceased her.

Viewing and funeral services will be on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until funeral services begin at noon. Rev. Ray Webb will officiate. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to Hahn's Chapel Church in care of the funeral home.
