VEACH, in Pleasant Township, Coffey Co. KS May 1 1889 of consumption, Mary A, wife of Arthur Veach, aged 63 years.
IN MEMORIAM
"Deep clouds of grief have gathered now,
and veiled our home in gloom:
For death has fanned our mother's brow,
And claimed her to the tomb,
Twas hard to lay our mother down,
Tis hard to kiss the rod:
Yet she must slumber in the tomb,
Such is the will of God.
Yes, gone! mother's gone! that loving one,
That swept away our gloom:
Who kept the sunlight in our home,
Now slumbers in the tomb.
Farewell dear Mother: We feel our loss,
And mourn for you each day;
You've safely crossed death's turbid tide,
To that eternal day.
