L. Dale Roberts, 88, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital in Bloomington.
Born July 7, 1917 in Martin County, he was the son of Bill and Birdie Mae (Cobb) Roberts. He had been married to Wilma Maxine Corbin, who passed away June 6, 2001.
He retired after 35 years at NWSC Crane and was a member of the Old Union Christian Church, NARFE and AFGE.
Survivors include: two sons, Riley Roberts and his wife Dianne of Oolitic, and Ronnie Roberts and his wife Marsha of Silverville; six grandchildren, Scott Roberts of Williams, Todd Roberts of Fayetteville, Misty Adams and her husband Steve of Bedford, Kelly Leveque and her husband David of Needmore, Jim Ragsdale and his wife Candy of Oolitic, and Robbie Atchison of Phoenix, Ariz.; and seven great-grandchildren, Cody Roberts, Elizabeth Leveque, Dianda Roberts, Casey Roberts, Josh Leveque, Alex Adams and Avery Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Ernie, Willie, Junior and one in infancy, and two sisters, Zella Harp and Rosa Hodges.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, Bedford, with the Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow in Owensburg Cemetery.
