Mrs. Ella Staten Jacobs, wife of John W. Jacobs, died Thursday at their home in Murphysboro, after an illness of six years. She was born in Williamson county Nov. 27, 1869, and at death had reached the age of 51 years, 1 month and 9 days. She was a member of the M.E. Church, South, and belonged to the Royal Neighbors and Rebecca lodges. Mrs. Jacobs is survived by the husband, three sons, Herman, Howard and Harold, three daughters, Mrs. Elva Wayman and Missess Mabel and Hazel Jacobs, all of Murphysboro. Two stepbrothers, Charles Wells of DeSoto and James Wells of East St. Louis, also survive. Funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon at the M.E. Church, South, in Murphysboro, by Rev. W. T. Mathis.
