Our loving husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on April 11, 2014. He was sixty-nine years old.

Earl was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Erton Ray Davis and Vada Thornton on August 20, 1944. He was the youngest of seven children.

He married the love of his life, Erna Karoline Boettcher, on November 14, 1963. They had just celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary together.

Together, they had one daughter, Cindy, who was his baby; he loved her so much. Earl had two grandchildren, Kaden (his big guy) and Jaylee (Jaybird), who he enjoyed spending time with and loved with all his heart.

Earl was a custom furniture upholster for fifty years. He loved his sports, taking care of his home and his yard, his 1973 Ford Truck, and most of all, his family. He could do and fix anything and was always there to help you in anyway.

He brought joy to people around him and he was a friend to all that he would meet. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, and leaves a hole in our lives forever that can never be filled. We love you!

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Erna; his daughter, Cindy (Rich) Maloney; his two grandchildren, Kaden and Jaylee; brother, Buddy; sister, June (Richard) Shuster; numerous nieces and nephews; and his little dog, Bailey, who was his joy. Preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, Salt Lake City. Viewings will also be held at the mortuary on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and prior to the services on Tuesday from 12:30-1:45 p.m.
