One of eight children, she was born on August 11, 1929 in Shiloh to John and Eva Treadwell, and was a livelong resident of Oak Hill. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Albert Simmons, and by her parents and siblings except 1 sister, Helena Concannon-Petrocci, of New Smyrna. During her lifetime, Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Garden Club, the Cemetery Association and the PTA, all in Oak Hill. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Oak Hill. Ann was a wonderful homemaker and faithful friend to many, but her family was her greatest joy.
Ann is survived by her four sons, Gary of Ft. Pierce, Steven (Jan) of Oak Hill, Bruce (Barbara) of Mims and Duane (JoAnn) of Oak Hill; grandchildren Brian Simmons, Elizabeth Ward (Chris), Stephanie Roof (Andy), Gary Jr., and John and Jennifer Simmons; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, James and Christian; and by many nieces and nephews.
