Shirley A. Petersohn, age 84, of Manitowoc, passed peacefully Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.

Shirley was born on November 25, 1929 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late George and Viola (Schwankee) Drossart. She married Louis "Louie" Petersohn on June 14th, 1947. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2011.

Survivors include her two daughters: Linda McKee-Douchane, AZ; Laurel (Billy) Schleis, town of Newton; one son: Ken (Jean) Petersohn, Manitowoc; daughter-in-law: Kay Petersohn, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Jeff (Shelly) Petersohn, CA; Jason (Jessica) Petersohn, Hudson; Mandi (Wayne) Hurkmans, Manitowoc; Jesse Tadych and special friend: Amy Reh, Las Vegas, NV; Andrea Petersohn and special friend: Randy Herdina, Manitowoc; four great grandchildren: Aubri and Halle Petersohn; Owen and Mady Hurkmans; one sister-in-law: Frieda Petersohn, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: George and Viola Drossart; her husband: Louis Petersohn; one son: Gerald; two sisters and one brother.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1033 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Benjamin Schaefer and Rev. Christopher Hoppe will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Petersohn family. Shirley will always be in our hearts and greatly missed by her family and friends.
