Mitchell Kathleen "Mickey" Morris of Buena Vista died Saturday, September 25, 1999 at the age of 70. She was born in Bassett, VA, daughter of the late Dolphus C. and Katie Gibson Jones. She graduated from Martinsville High School, Averett and Radford Colleges and received a Master of Education Degree in Guidance from the College of William and Mary. She served as a middle school guidance counselor at Parry McCluer Middle School, where she retired in 1995. She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church and served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. She has been active in numerous civic organizations including the Board of Directors for the Paxton House Historical Society and Sisters of Beta Sigma Phi. She is survived by her husband, C. Lee Morris; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret C. "M.C." and Tom Moncure of Stafford and Laura Lee and Todd Hostetter of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Page and Hunter Hostetter and Katie and Annie Moncure; sister, Edith Harris of Martinsville and brother William Kenneth Jones of Sautee, GA. The funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at St. John's United Methodist Church with Rev. A. Howell Franklin and Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.
