Alta Theodora Reed was born December 17, 1927 at Farmington Township, Illinois to George Ernest and Audella (Miller) Clayton. She grew up in Illinois and in 1946 moved to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where she lived until moving to Boise in 1960. She then moved to Stayton, Oregon in 1969 and to Indianapolis, Indiana for a couple of years before moving to Albany where she has lived since.

She married Oliver W. Reed in 1960 in Nevada and he passed away in 1996. Alta worked as a waitress for many years and was a member of the Albany VFW Auxiliary #584.

She is survived by her children; Mark L. France of Albany, Dale France of Nampa, Idaho, Glenda L. Young of Marion, Ohio and Leslie E. Reed of Kennewick, Washington; 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver W. Reed, her brother Jimmy and three sisters Georgia, Dottie and Clara and a grandson Tate Young.
