Fred W. Akley, 49, of Grafton, a native of Brattleboro, Vt. died yesterday at Samaritan Hospital following a long illness.

He was the son of the late Everett and Minnie Butterflied Akley of Brattleboro. He had re sided in the Grafton area the last 12 years.

He served in the Army before World War I. He is survived by his wife the former Bertha Babcock, two sisters Mrs. Henry Davidson of Brattleboro, and Mrs. Frank Schuraacker of Connecticut, three brothers, Everett, Oscar and Mike Akley all of Brattleboro.

The funeral will be Sunday a: 2 p.m. from Grafton Methodist Church. Rev. Richard W. Meller up, pastor of Grafton Methodist! Church will officiate. Interment will be in Mapletown Cemetery, Hoosick, NY..
