US Congressman. Graduate of the law department of Columbia University, he was admitted to the bar in 1880 and established his practice in the city. He was the inspector of common schools when he presented credentials as a member-elect for the Democratic seat. He served in the United States House of Representatives from Mar 4, 1895 to June 2, 1896 when John Mitchell successfully contested the election. Walsh resumed his law practice and was appointed city magistrate in 1905, a position he held until his death.
