Tam was inducted into the Dallas (Texas) USBA Bowling Hall of Fame in 2004 with an overall average of 229 and numerous 300 games and 800 series. He was one of the Dallas areas great bowlers. At one time, he held the record for the most 299 (40) games in the US. In the 1995-96 season, he tied the record for the most 800 (7) series in a season.
He was the owner of Tam's Stamp Gallery in Richardson, Texas.
