Gertrude Moreau, 92, of 301 Ridgeway, passed away yesterday afternoon at the Boone County Hospital after an illness of several years. She was born near Ashland on April 9, 1886, the daughter of Richard "Martin" and Mary Jane "Mollie" Burnett Hagens [Hagans}. She married William Arch Moreau on Oct. 28, 1908, near Ashland. He preceded her in death in 1951. Mrs. Moreau was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church. Survivors include six sons, Wallace Moreau, Martin Moreau, Harry Moreau, Elrie Moreau and Willard Moreau, all of Columbia, and Beryl Moreau of Glasgow, one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Duncan of Columbia; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Three sons and one daughter precede her in death. Services will be conducted 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Richard Coombs officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at Memorial Funeral Home until time for services.

She was born April 9, 1886, near Ashland to Richard "Martin" and Mary Jane (Burnett) Hagans. In 1908 she married William Arch Moreau. He died in 1951. Survivors include six sons, Wallace Moreau, 10 E Craig St, Martin Moreau, 404 Pershing Road, Harry Moreau, Route 5, Elrie Moreau, Route 6, Willard Moreau, 316 Strawn Road, and Beryle Moreau, Glasgow, a daughter, Gladys Duncan, 301 Ridgeway Ave, 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Three sons and a daughter died earlier. Mrs. Moreau was a member of Fairview Methodist Church.
