His mother was Mary A. Pennington Long.

Joseph Long, 88, died January 11, 1941

Joseph Long, another one of Miller County's aged citizens, died at Wallace Hospital in Lebanon, January 11, 1941, at the age of 88 years.

He suffered a broken hip in a fall at his home and, after he was taken to the hospital, developed pneumonia of which he died. He united with the Christian Church early in life. Mr. Long was a brother of Riley Long who died several months ago. He was the father of five children,
three of them preceding him in death.

Those surviving are Willard of Barnett, Mo., and A. P. Long of Springfield, Mo. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held from the Iberia Christian Church Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Rev John Boles of Iberia officiating. Burial was in the Iberia Cemetery.
