US Congressman. Elected to represent New York's 8th and 13th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1903 to 1906, and in 1913. He also served as a Member of the New York State Assembly from 1886 to 1894, Member of the New York State Senate from 1894 to 1903, and 1908 to 1910, and as a Delegate to the Democratic National Convention from New York in 1912. He was also a theatrical producer and an organized crime leader in New York. He was killed by a locomotive at Pelham Parkway in the Bronx, New York.
