Son of Solomon and Elizabeth Boles Boyles. Husband of Mary Frances Page. Father of 10 children: Nannie Lee (1869-1915), Ernest (1870-1926), Walter M. (1873-1947), James (1876-1948), Rosa (1878-1922), Gaston (1879-1916), Lillian Alice (1881- ), Carrie Frances (1882-1884), Daisy Belle (1885-1973) and Reid (1887-1949), four of whom survived at the time of his death. Mr. Boyles was a CSA veteran, serving under General Robert E. Lee until the surrender on April 9, 1865.
