Michael Jay Gold, beloved son of Phyllis (Gould) Gold and the late Mel Gold, born June 2, 1965, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from complications of a massive heart attack.

Michael was a graduate of Burlington High School, Champlain College, and Lyndon State College. During his pre-college and Champlain College years, he worked with his cousin, Louis, at Champlain Farms; installed ceramic tile with his brother-in-law, David; and installed pool fences and granite countertops with his friend, Michael Barrett. He also worked at Harbor Industries and Valet Air Services. After graduation from Lyndon State, he worked at Omni Care, and presently for Community Health Pharmacy. During Michael's high school years, he was Assistant Manager and Manager of the baseball team under Coach Jim Billings. He also played soccer and baseball. Over the years, Michael enjoyed running in different marathons, riding his bike on the bike path to Colchester, and taking the ferry over to the Islands. He loved going to the Italian dinners in Barre, Vets Club in Colchester, and the Elks Wednesday steak dinners with his dad. In recent years, he enjoyed visiting Vermont breweries with his nephew, Jordan, taking day trips to different places in Vermont, and yearly memorable trips to the Lake Sunapee area with his family ending with Peter Christians for lunch. He just loved that mustard! He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching them on TV with his grandpa, Phil, nephew, Jordan, and brother-in-law, David. In the summer, he would play golf with his dad, uncles, Steve Gould and Richard Fortier, grandpa, Phil Gould, and cousins, Sam and Aaron Gould. His favorite things to do: He loved spending time with his sister, Jacklyn, it never mattered what they were doing as long as they were together; Sunday mornings reading the Boston Globe while having his Dunkin Donuts coffee; relaxing in the Tikki Bar watching Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, and Food Paradise with his brother-in-law, David, and sports programs with his nephew, Jordan; Cody's with his uncle, Steve; and Wild Wings with nephew, Jordan. He loved spending time with all his friends, cousins, and family camping or hiking, attending baseball, basketball and hockey games, going to the movies, and eating at different restaurants; his favorite was the Dog Team Tavern. He was looking forward to a great summer by the pool, grilling, boating, golfing and spending time with his girlfriend, Peggy.

Survivors are his mother, Phyllis (Gould) Gold; sister, Jacklyn (Gold) Maynard; brother-in-law, David; nephew, Jordan; girlfriend, Peggy Cousino; aunts and uncles, Cheryl and Richard Fortier, Stephen and Ginny Gould, Lisa and Stu Liebowitz, Art and Ginny Greenblott, Nancy McPhee, Connie, Larry and Steve Fortier; surrogate parents, Mary Jane/Rod Barlow; cousins and families, Sam and Donna Gould, David and Robin Gould, Barry and Julie Gould, Aaron and Christina Gould, Kerry and Ian Sherman, Stacy Fortier, Kristy and Thomas Coyne, Roland and Kristen Butzke, Erik and Aldea Butzke, Jan and Mitchell Riebel, Scott and Lisa Spingarn, Brad Spingarn, John and Tamara Oborsky, Kara Greenblott and Ray Schuler, Kevin and Trese Greenblott, Lisa Greenblott, Brian and Jody Greenblott, Louis Hershberg, Andrea Hershberg, Debbie and Steve Dyke, Michael and Nikki Hershberg, as well as many additional aunts, uncles, and cousins; good friends, Andy Barlow, Michael and Stephanie Barrett, Tom and Denise Richard, Pete and Heather Daudelin, Ken and Teresa Kajenski, Tony Caruso, Stacy and Jim Mahoney, Jenni Browe, and Erica Henninger.
