He was born May 16, 1937 in Idaho Falls, ID to Robert Woodrow and Alice Johannessen Gamble. He attended schools in Idaho Falls and SLC and graduated from Ben Lomond High School in Ogden.
Richard married Ruth Ann Miller in Elko, Nevada on November 9, 1956.
He was an entrepreneur at heart and ran his own business, Intermountain Distributing, with his wife most of his life. He also worked at and retired from HAFB as an Electrical Engineer. Richard loved to work hard and play hard and loved life. He worked up until the end and was happy to be able to do so.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved outdoor activities. He was a hardworking, happy, easy going person; trusting of others and tried to be a friend to everyone.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Debbie (Gene) McDonald; sons, Ronnie (Robyn) Gamble and Randy Gamble; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Ben Lomond Cemetery, 526 E. 2850 No. in No. Ogden. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd.
