Captain Azariah P. Seward, Master of the Sloop "Greyhound" died in New Orleans, La., while his Sloop was being repaired. His death and that of his crew was under mysterious circumstance. His body was recovered by a family member and returned to Connecticut. His will was probated, the "Greyhound' was auctioned in New Orleans (see book authored by Edward Sears "George Seward, one of Americas greatest runners", George was the son of Azariah & Caroline Seward. The warehouse owned by Azariah's partner was burned, causing huge property loss. This was incident is believed related to the death of Azariah, the invasion of Mexico through Belize, and the death and capture of many English Colonists engaged to set up a French Empire in Mexico. The expedition failed, Napoleon Bonaparte's attempt to rule in Mexico was squashed, his return through Virginia quickly terminated; the spies for the governments had done their work well.
