Janet N. Smith, 75, of Taylorville died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2003, in Taylorville Care Center.
She was born April 15, 1928, in Bridgeport, the daughter of Frank P. and Mabel Parker Barton. She married Harold Daugherty. She later married Hershel Fulk in November 1968. He died March 17, 1985. She then married Harold Smith on September 17, 1986. He died December 29, 2001. She was a retired licensed practical nurse. She was a member of St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Surviving are her daughters: Gaye (husband Dennis) Long and Sandra (husband Steve) Hall, both of Rochester; son, Carl Earhart; step-son, Harold "Lippy" (wife Evelyn) Smith of Taylorville; step-daughters: Carolyn Eggimann of Pawnee, Jenna (husband Richard) Province of Lynwood and Cheryl Prasun of Taylorville; 20 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and several aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; step-son, Hallie Fulk; sister, Joann Ackerson; step-sons-in-law: Don Eggimann and Gary Smith; step-grandson, Shawn Smith; and step-great-grandson, Shawn C. Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 26, in Sutton Memorial Chapel, with Rev. William Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, in the funeral home.
