Rebecca was born to Robert Stewart Madge & Mary Thompson along with two sisters; Luella Jane 1867 & Sarah Stewart 1874. The family lived on a farm with her grandfather, Thomas & Sarah Madge in Greenfield, Mercer, Penn. She was educated at Westminister College in New Wilmington, Lawrence, Penn. and graduated in 1892. In 1895 she was taking care of her ill sister, Ella who had TD and was in Iowa. After Ellas death in Dec 1895 she returned to the farm in Greenfield. In 1906-8 she was doing accounting inColorado Springs, Colorado. In 1910 to 1921 she was the bookkeeper for the Famous Ambassador Hotel in Stanta Barbara, Cailf. In 1923-1932 she was the accountant for Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs Colorado. In 1933 Accountant for The Exchange National Bank Works, Colorado Springs, then on to Barth Hotel and Hillcrest Inn in Denver & Mt. Morrison, Colorado 1935. 1940-44 Accountant at All Colorado Investment Company. She retired and joined her sister, Sarah in Yakima, Washington until she passed.
