Jonathan William Strickland, age 20, of Melrose, passed away on November 20, 2003, as the result of an automobile accident. Born in Gainesville, he had lived in Melrose for all his life.  He was a roofer with Whittion Roofing Company.  He was a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Gainesville. Survivors are his mother and stepfather, Leola and William Wayne Dixon, Gainesville; sisters, Amy Johnson, Keystone Heights; and Laura Ford, Melrose; grandparents, Jennie and Chad Walters, Gainesville; two nieces and two nephews; Katie Ford, Jasmine Strickland, Gregory Ballow and Joshua Strickland.
Funeral services were held on November 24, 2003 at Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Gainesville. Burial followed in Forest Meadows Memorial Park East, Gainesville.
