Rex Owens, 88, departed this earthly life and entered into eternity Saturday, April 12, 2014. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Birdville Church of Christ. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet. Rex was born and raised in Stephenville. He served two years in the Navy during World War II. Rex served as an elder at Birdville Church of Christ for many years. He was a Fort Worth firefighter for 36 years. Rex was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved to work with wood, his garden and yard. Survivors: Wife, Wanda Owens; daughters, Deborah Owens, Pam Fear; sons, David Owens and wife, Joanna, James Owens and wife, Janine; grandchildren, Robert Fear, Shawn Fear, Megan Zimmer, Emily Owens, Jared Owens, Wesley Owens, Jason Owens; and great-grandson, Isaiah Fear.
