Sgt. U.S. Army National Guard, Vietnam Era-Mr. Velpel died of natural causes on 4-11-2014 at the OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He is the son of Mr. Frank A. & Mrs. Rosemary E. {Weisbruch} Velpel of Peoria, and the husband of Mrs. Rose Mary Guitarte Te, and they were married on 12-30-1999. She survives.

Mr. Velpel does leave one son, Mr. Kevin {Dena} Velpel of Crystal Lake, Illinois, and two Grandchildren, Miss Hannah & Tyler, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Joyce Velpel.

Mr. Velpel was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Mr. Gerald Velpel.

He is a 1964 graduate of Peoria H.S., and he served God & Country with the Army National Guard, and he operated Vepel Insurance Agency for 25 years on Pioneer Park.

Awards: National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal.
