She was born on November 29, 1950 in Warsaw to Amon and Mary (Compton) Prater. She married Roland Shepherd on May 5, 1973 in Packerton, Indiana who survives.
She was a resident of Kosciusko County her entire life. She was a graduate of Pierceton High School, class of 1970. She worked at Da-Lite Screen for seven years and Dalton Foundry for nineteen and a half years. She became disabled in 1996.
Judy is survived by her husband, Roland Shepherd, Warsaw; two sisters, Linda (and spouse Glen) Hughes, Mentone and Sadie Bays, North Manchester. She is also survived by two nieces Amy Likes, Albion and Joni Westerberg, North Manchester; two nephews, Glen Jr. (and spouse Erica) Hughes, Mentone and Damon J. Prater, Akron; one great niece; three great nephews and a very special friend, Goldie Goble, Claypool. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday April 16, 2014 at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw with Reverend Harry Crace and Reverend James Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
