-----------------

Christopher Shayne Tyler, age 59, went home on Monday, April 14, 2014. Chris was born in Long Beach, CA on March 19, 1955 to Richard and Enid Tyler.

Find A Grave contributor Donna Dinstel has made a suggestion---

He married his sweetie, Becky Rider, on August 28, 1982.

Chris is survived by his wife and three children, one daughter-in-law. He is also survived by his first granddaughter; his parents; his brother and wife; and four sisters; and numerous nephews and nieces; also his mother-inlaw; brother-in-law and wife; and sister-in-law and husband.

He was a proud graduate of Chelsea High School and The University of Oklahoma with a degree in microbiology. He started in the financial planning business in 1982 where he worked for over 30 years. His hobbies were OU football, competitive BBQ, and vacationing with his family and friends all over the world. Chris was a Paul Harris fellow of Rotary International, First President of Norman Sooner Rotary, Cub Scout Master, soccer coach. Chris was a family man and took an active interest in the church, community, friends' and his children's lives. Chris was loved and respected by everyone who had the honor of meeting him. He genuinely cared for every single person he met, and never met a stranger. He was a man of great faith. He fought a good fight against mantle-cell lymphoma, a Goliath to his David. Just as God used a regular guy to take down a giant in order for all the people to know how important they are to Him, Christ gave Chris the pebble and slingshot. He made it his goal to glorify God through the trials, and always said if one person came to know the Lord Jesus as a result, the battle was worth the fight. Boomer Sooner! Sheridan Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133, or Saint Francis Health Systems, 7 West, Attn. Michelle Long, 6161 S. Yale Ave., Tulsa, OK 74136.

Visitation with the family will be held from 3:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, April 20, 2014, at RiverCrest, 13329 S. Memorial Dr., Bixby, OK. Funeral Service for Chris will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, April 21, 2014, at South Tulsa Baptist Church, 10310 S. Sheridan Rd., Tulsa, OK. Bixby Funeral Service.
