"Mrs. Minnie May Roop, 76, died at 7:15 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 714 Burkholder Street. Mrs. Roop had been ill for the past three weeks.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Reed and Mrs. Temple Patrick of Moberly; three brothers, Clarence and Ad Specie of Moberly and Robert Specie of Huntsville.
Mrs. Roop was born in Morris, Illinois and had spent practically her entire life in the Moberly vicinity. She was a member of the Church of God, Holiness.
The body will remain at the Mahan Funeral Home until time for services, to be conducted at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Church of God by the pastor, the Rev. Nina Riddle. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery." Moberly Monitor-Index, June 29, 1953
