Salt Lake Tribune on 9/2/2005. Obituary: Donna Ruth Bytheway Larson, 1918 ~ 2005, passed away on Aug. 29, 2005, in her home with family at her side. Born July 28, 1918, the oldest of five children, in Seattle, Washington, to Wilford Kendrick and Eunice Agnes Bytheway. Donna graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, where she was active in Acapella, and worked as a long distance operator for Mountain Bell. She married Dallas James Larson in 1938. During World War II they were stationed in Gulf Port, Mississippi, where Dallas was a Tech Sergeant in the Army Air Corps. After the war they returned to Salt Lake City, and Donna went to work at the Paris Co. as a switchboard operator until her first child was born, in 1948. Donna was very active in the Red Cross and the PTA. Later in life she held positions at Fernwoods and Centralarm. After retirement she worked as a volunteer at the VA hospital for 27 years. Donna had a great love and appreciation for music, animals, travel, and nature, and possessed a wry sense of humor and the ability to laugh at herself.

Donna is lovingly survived by her children Jody Larson (Donna Robbins), Mark (Tamara Ferguson) Larsen, Wendy (Robert) Pohl, and Jennifer Larson, her siblings Phyllis Malone, Ray Bytheway, and Ben Bytheway, six grandchildren and seven great-grand-children.

She was preceded in death by her brother Jack Bytheway. The family would like to thank Cheryl Chisholm, Stephanie Gardener and all of the Rocky Mountain Hospice staff for their assistance and caring. Donations in Donna's memory may be made to The Humane Society of Utah, P.O. Box 573659, Murray, UT 84157-3659.
