Mrs. Willie Faye "Mama Willie" Gossett Skelton, 87, of 6211 White Horse Road, died Saturday.
Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth Capps Gossett and wife of the late John R. Skelton.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she was a member of Homebound Departments of the Sunday School Class.
Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Jack (Hazel) Cann, Mrs. Bobby (Sue) Taylor and Mrs. Glenn (Jackie) Whitfield, all of Greenville, Mrs. W. B. (Bobbie) McWhite of Fountain Inn, Mrs. Rudolph (Dean) Wike of Easley, Mrs. Clyde (Georgia) Norris of Powdersville; a son, Joe M. Skelton of Greenville; two sisters, Carrie G. Flinn and Emmie G. Epps, both of Greenville; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two special nieces, Dianne Cagle of Greenville and Marian Roper of Easley.
She was predeceased by a son, Carl "Bub" Skelton.
Services: 3:30 pm Monday at Northwest Chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral hoome with Drs. Melvin Aiken and Ralph Horne officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Section 12. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jack Cann, Jr., Dail Skelton, John Skelton, Brian Skelton, Randy Reynolds, Ted Taylor, Eddie Wike, Scottie Whitfield, Ronnie Skelton, Donnie Skelton and Clyde Norris, Jr. Honorary escorts will be granddaughters and great-children.
Visitation; 2:25 to 3:15 pm Monday at Thomas McAfee Funeral home, Northwest.

Willie Faye Gossett Skelton's great-grandfather was Lemuel Langston who first married Martha X and second married Elizabeth Cooley. Her 2-great grandfather was Solomon Langston, Jr who married Hannah Crow (daughter of Isaac Crow). Her 3-great grandfather was Solomon Langston, Sr who married Sarah Bennett. The documentation proving her connection to her patriot 3-great grandfathers has been accepted by the DAR.
