He was born in Commerce, the son of Ricky and Gloria Dudley Garrett of Commerce. Mr. Garrett was an avid race fan and was a successful owner, racecar builder and driver of his own car. Chris' # 49 was a regular on many dirt tracks and in many races in the area. Chris was an accomplished farmer and diesel technician and worked side by side with his father in the family business.
Interment was on the Garrett Farm on Apple Valley Road, Commerce.
